The RPM Foundation presented their Restorer’s Award at the 2025 Greenwich Concours d’Elegance to Bruce Canepa, for his team’s restoration of a 1986 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole, owned by the Serafino Collection.

While concours generally do a great job of celebrating the amazing examples of our automotive past, it’s crucial to also recognize the skilled men and women who work tirelessly, often, behind the scenes. RPM presents the Restorer’s Award to celebrate the craft and artistry of the people who dedicate themselves to restoration and preservation of historic automobiles. After all, without the skilled people who fabricate, paint, upholster, rebuild, and preserve, we’d have no historic vehicles to celebrate and enjoy. Special consideration of the award is given to restorers who provide guidance and mentorship to the next generation of automotive artisans, such as Bruce Canepa.

“Bruce has had several young people that he’s been able to pass his skills onto…We want to make sure we’re recognizing that, rewarding it.”, said Nick Ellis, Executive Director of the RPM Foundation.

Bruce was nominated for the award by the Serafino Collection, owner of the Countach. On top of Bruce’s dedication to mentorship, the high caliber of workmanship he and his colleagues produce is evident in the details of the dark green Lamborghini. Beyond a full ground-up restoration, the Countach was treated to custom touches formulated to look factory, including a white leather and green Alcantara interior, a hopped-up 5.2-liter V-12 engine, and subtle body modifications to sleeken the car’s form.
